We all need a hero

We all need a hero to look up to. One who can guide us and make a positive impact on our lives. These pictures are of people who have all made an impact in the world for the better. Though it may seems hard to believe in some situations, one person really can make a difference for the better.

One man I can honestly has been a true inspiration to me is not a sporting hero, he isn't a hero of war, he is a man who told us to always keep hope no matter how bad the situation looks. He spent a long time fighting against racism in South Africa and was jailed for about 25 years. His name was Nelson Mandela. If you had the chance to take revenge on a person who wronged you, would you actually take it. He didn't. He became president of South Africa and so after all the suffering people inflicted on him he had the chance to make them feel how they made them feel. Instead he chose to forgive them and said all people are equal. In doing this he also showed us about one of the biggest teachings in the bible.

As a Christian I believe that my ultimate hero is Jesus, the son of God. He came down to earth in human form to be a hero for all the people. He built the bridge between people and God so that we could have a personal relationship with God. As Christians we believe that Jesus is a true hero. He took our sins on the cross so that we could be forgiven. SHOUT IT OUT FOR JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is one of the hardest things to do but it is also one of the most important lessons in the bible. Jesus took our sins on the cross so that we could be forgiven for them. Forgiveness means we do not hold a grudge against someone when they have wronged us. This is a lot easier said than done but it is always possible and from personal experience is the better option to take.

We all have those times in our lives when someone hurts us deep in our hearts and we feel left to die by them. So many times I've herd people come up to me and go "how can I forgive them when it hurts so much" or "I will never forgive them for what they have done". I've had them as well where I'm just shouting to sky in anger and all these different things run through my head about how I will get back what was taken away from me. A while ago I had people hurt me like no one had ever hurt me before. I couldn't believe it was them either because these were people I thought I could trust but I ended up getting stabbed in the back. I spent ages in absolute agony holding a grudge against these people who wronged me and saying that I will take back what is rightfully mine. However the bible tell us that we need to take a different approach to how we view people when they wrong us. How can we expect to be forgiven for our sins if we cannot forgive others. Matthew 6:14: "If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, your father in heaven will forgive you"

There is no point carrying around a grudge with us what good does it do us really? It makes us unhappy, angry and it has no effect on the person who wronged you. Studies have shown those who forgive live happier longer and healthier lives. It does not mean that we have to forget about what happened to us. We will look back at what happened to us and we will say that we did not deserve that to happen to us and its true we didn't. Even if the people who wrong do not appreciate your forgiveness I can promise you right now that God does. He knows what you did and is you and proud to call you his child.

Remember this people when you take vengeance you become even but when you forgive you become superior.

Turning Barriers into Bridges

What a lot of people expect is that when you become christian life becomes really easy. This is not true you do go through bad times and experiences, except now you have God on your side who will help though it. Jeremiah 29:11:"For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future".

God has got plans and blessings for us to enjoy but quite often there are barriers in our way that stop us from enjoying these wonderful things that God has for us. A while ago I had the biggest barrier ever put in front of me. My girlfriend who I cared for so much left me for another lad. After a lot of personal problems at home I was starting to recover from them and that barrier hit when my guard was down. I was struggling badly as I went into a terrible state of depression. I was dwelling on the past and not looking at the new opportunities God had right in front of me. If you was driving a car and kept looking in the rear view mirror you would keep crashing because your not focusing on the road a head of you.

We do not get put into these situations for no reason at all. Everything happens for a reason. These barriers that we are facing are actually bridges to Gods blessings in disguise, we just need to see with spiritual eyes to see the bridge. I believe that what happened to me needed to happen so that God could get to know me a better and to prepare me for the future so that I am able to tackle even bigger barriers that are to come later. I also learned to have faith in God and that all i need is him. So whatever it is that you are going through I guarantee by the end of it you will have crossed the bridge into God's blessings and you will be stronger than ever.
Remember God loves you no matter what.
